  • 1. WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE NECESSARY TO TAKE OUT A GENERALI NAUTICO INSURANCE POLICY?
    • ID of the owner of the vessel – passport and residence permit or NIE (copies); bank account in Spain for debit of bills;

      Vessel logbook and technical certificate indicating parameters of the boat, manufacturer, model, year of production and other characteristics. Indicate market price of the vessel as well as navigation area and storage conditions.

      Additionally, it is necessary to provide a boat-driving license for all authorised persons.

  • 2. WHAT DOES THE PRICE OF INSURANCE GENERALI NAUTICO DEPEND ON?
    • The price of the insurance policy for each vessel shall be established individually and depends on operation conditions, age, size, type and price of the vessel and coverage options, included in the policy.

  • 3. HOW SHALL THE INSURANCE BE PAID FOR, AND IN WHAT PERIODS?
    • Payments are annual or semestral.

      You may pay for the insurance through a bank account (direct debit); by a bankcard or in cash.

  • 4. WHAT SHOULD I DO IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT?
    • In case of occurrence of an insured event, the owner of the vessel should within 7 days notify the insurance company thereabout, indicating incident site and giving a brief description of circumstances of the event and consequences thereof.

      In case of theft or robbery, stolen effects should be listed, indicating their value.

      A representative of the company will come to the site of the accident in the shortest possible time to establish causes and reasons of damage and loss caused by the insured vessel. Further, the insurer will draw up a list of documents that shall be submitted.

      In certain cases an independent expertise may be required to establish the exact amount of damage, expenses for such expertise shall be borne by the insurer.

      Maximum time for revision of documents is 30 business days.

      Insurance indemnity may be paid in cash or by covering vessel reparation expenses.

  • 6. WHAT IS FRANCHISE INSURANCE?
    • Franchise is a deductible threshold amount, covered by the owner of the vessel himself in case of an insured event. Franchise will reduce the overall price of an insurance. On the other hand, All-risk cutter and yacht insurance without franchise is the most expensive type of policy, but this way all expenses will be covered by the insurance company in case of any insured event.

  • 7. HOW LONG IT TAKES TO TAKE OUT A GENERALI NAUTICO INSURANCE POLICY, IF ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS ARE AT HAND?
    • A policy may be formalised on the same day of presentation of all necessary documents.

  • 8. IS IT POSSIBLE TO SIGN AN INSURANCE CONTRACT REMOTELY?
    • Yes, it is possible to formalize your contract remotely, without visiting our office personally. You only need to send required documents by e-mail; your contract will be sent to you in the same way. Later you may collect your contract at the office and sign the contract personally. Exceptionally all the documents may be sent by ordinary mail.
